Goodreads asked R.M. ArceJaeger:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

R.M. ArceJaeger Remember that a good author is 20% writer, 80% editor. You should spend 4 times as much time editing your work as you do writing it. Don't fall into the trap of thinking your work is perfect the first time, and don't be afraid of seeking (and taking!) outside critiques. That being said, don't let editing bog you down. Try to write and edit a little bit each day --- that is the only way to move forward.
