Creativity inspires me to start a book--a character or idea that simply won't let go. That said, it's Fear (yes, with a cap F) that "inspires" me to finish. A book contract is just that--a legally binding document. And lastly Pride (again with a purposive cap) -- I always aim for every book to be as good or better than its predecessor.
