Goodreads asked Gideon Saint:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Gideon Saint For aspiring writers the best advice is to give yourself time. It takes time to write a novel, but it takes even longer to learn to write a novel. Build time into your life for writing, even if it's only an hour a day. On the train to work, in bed before you go to sleep, on your lunchbreak, over your summer holidays, do a course (which will force you to spend the time)... find the time and build the routine into your life. Once you have that, then you can start putting the building blocks into place, and keep improving until you are great. Nobody becomes a professional golfer on their first trip to the golf course. Very few become a professional writer without putting in the hours. Good luck!
