Goodreads asked Sharit Sinha:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Sharit Sinha Well, let me be honest, it's hard guys. After Chetan Bhagat, everyone aspires to become a writer. If you manage to write something interesting, that's just the first step. You need a renowned publisher, and chances are you may not get any. You need good publicity, otherwise your masterpiece will end up spending in the shelf all its life.

That being said, if you really like writing, if you feel it comes naturally to you and you have a story to tell, don't let anything stop you. Lot of writers impress big publishers with their stories. And if nothing else works, there's always self-publishing, Facebook/Twitter and thousands of your online buddies.

Most importantly, be original, don't go for a formula... write what you feel like writing.
