David Fleming
A YA novel set in 1987 tentatively called "The Goo Goo Mucks" about self-proclaimed misfit Enzuigiri James, boy who gets kicked out of boarding school and has to attend the local public high school and all that implies. Along the way he finds a kindred spirit in punk-rock girl Lucy Goodbody who has had some troubles of her own.

David, I'm having the hardest time getting my son to read anything. He's very behind in language arts and his sentence structure is quite rough. He's 12 and says he likes to read modern, realistic stories. Your book was his favorite so far and I can't find anything else like it. Do you have any suggestions?
