Goodreads asked Lisa April Smith:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Lisa April Smith I don't permit myself to have writer's block.

I sit down at my desk and start anywhere. Edit previous work. Update my outline, or time line and the ideas come. When I'm driving or listening to music, I give myself permission to daydream, to try improbable story lines before discarding them. A ten foot tall stalk comes from a single grain of corn. Imagination is a tool. Work with it.
