I sit down at my desk and start anywhere. Edit previous work. Update my outline, or time line and the ideas come. When I'm driving or listening to music, I give myself permission to daydream, to try improbable story lines before discarding them. A ten foot tall stalk comes from a single grain of corn. Imagination is a tool. Work with it.
Lisa April Smith I come from a long line of story-tellers and voracious readers. I wrote plays and short stories when I was a kid. My mother wrote short stories. But it takes more than desire to write a book. It takes hard work and discipline. My family passed that along to me as well.
Lisa April Smith Jan. 15, 2016, I finished the third om the "Charlie" series, "The Second Best Time" and promised myself a few months for a much needed rest. Ironically, the ideas for the next in the series keep coming, for which I am very grateful. Thank you for asking.
