Why is The Princess Companion told in first person and The Princess Fugitive told in third person? (I just finished The Princess Fugitive and LOVED IT, by the way! The High King brought tears to my eyes and made me feel hope and love in real life, and I am impressed with the character arch you gave Ava.) And are other books told mostly in first or third person?
Melanie Cellier
With my first series (The Four Kingdoms), I wrote each book in whichever point of view felt right for that book. As a result, the series is fairly evenly split between first and third person. However, I think having continuity is probably less confusing for readers, so from my second series onwards, I decided to choose one point of view and stick with it. So my subsequent series are all in first person. I hope that's helpful, and I'm so glad you enjoyed The Princess Fugitive!

I've read only The Secret Princess, The Mystery Princess, and now I'm finishing The Rogue Princess. I'm intrigued by the Palace of Light, but so far I've gotten only a smattering of information. Does any of your works focus exclusively on the High King, the Palace of Light, and its various wonders? Does any work include the origin and a full history of these? Do you anticipate writing anything like that?

I just started getting into the Four Kingdoms series and I'm SO HOOKED!!! My favourite couple is Evelyn and Jake (they were so adorable together)! I only wish we saw more of them. Did they ever get married and will we see more of their interactions? Please say yes!!
