Goodreads asked Mark Cheverton:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Mark Cheverton I find that when I have writer's block, like I did this past weekend, I just force myself to write. I start out with a descriptive passage and then add some dialog with the characters and maybe some action, just to get the creative juices flowing, and usually that gets me around the block. Usually, what I write when I have writer's block is usually garbage and I end up throwing it away, but it helps me to visualize the scene I want to write, and for me, if I can't see the scene in my mind, then I can't write it.
