When I was doing the primary-source research for "Colonial Horrors: Sleepy Hollow and Beyond," I realized just how many great stories - and authors - are at risk of being forgotten. Some writers were legends in their time, and some are so well known today for their work in other genres that their forays outside their usual territory are overlooked - unjustly in my opinion.
