I have noticed that, because of the order and chaos laws/balance, there isn't great technological advancement, more like a technological pendulum throughout the Recluce series; and the most "advanced" tech developed has been steam engines. Can we expect more on upcoming books? Like, internal combustion, aviation, etc.

The highest level of technology currently shown in the Recluce books is at the beginning of FALL OF ANGELS. There are a balloon and a magic/sun-powered laser in THE ORDER WAR. Given the structure of the magic system, much higher level technology wouldn't be all that feasible. So I wouldn't hold your breath looking for higher technology, although there are three more Recluce books in the works.

I loved Haze, specifically the very different political structure on Haze itself. any plans to return to that story/set of characters? I have also read all of the Recluce books and the Imager Portfolio - they are still some of my favorite books, 20 years after I started reading your work.
