Jodie Clark
Jodie Clark asked L.E. Modesitt Jr.:

I've very much enjoyed reading your books and the answers/comments on those books which I've read on Goodreads and your own site. This question is prompted by pure curiosity. Have you ever co-authored a book or story? Whether yes or no, what lay behind that choice?

L.E. Modesitt Jr. The only book I've written with a co-author was The Green Progression, which I wrote with Bruce Levinson. At the time it was written, we were both working for the same Washington, D.C., consulting firm. I've always felt that a collaboration should only be for a book that neither writer could or would write alone. What made it possible is that we'd worked together on consulting projects and his expertise was in different areas from mine. It was written to be a near future semi-thriller, but since it was written 30 years ago, it's now more of a period piece about a future that never was. After we wrote it, I left the consulting firm and moved, first to New Hampshire and then to Utah.

I will say that the head of the consulting firm read The Green Progression and said that it was very true to life.
