Huntley Fitzpatrick
Hi Camilla,
Good question. You would probably get as many answers on it as there are writers, so this is just my own experience.
It is both hard and the easiest thing I've ever done--certainly the thing that comes most naturally to me, the dream I always wanted--and it also comes with its fair share of difficulty--the days where the words don't come, the struggle to do justice to a character and a story, and all the business things--publicity and marketing and even forcing my shy self out into the world. But on the days when the writing comes together, it's amazingly magical. Even the struggling days are full of joy--the kind that comes with really digging deep and knowing you've worked hard for something that is also pure pleasure. I guess my best answer is that it is hard to be a writer the way it is hard to be alive--that you have to deal with all those feelings--good, bad, sad, overwhelmed, glorious, amazed, despairing, lost, hopeful. I can't imagine any other life, but, like life itself, it is a matter of taking it moment by moment.
Thank you for asking.
Warmly,
Huntley

Just wanted to start off by saying I absolutely loved My Life Next Door! Definitely one of the best books I've read in a while and one of my new favorites!I The end left me craving for more between Jase & Sam. Are you thinking of a possible sequel with those two as the protagonists again (though I am totally excited for The Boy Most Likely To) even if it would be a New-Adult book?
