Sassy asked Huntley Fitzpatrick:

Huntley, I am just now getting your book 'My Life Next Door' and so far it is amazing. I love how you made all the characters as if they were real individuals. what was your inspiration for writing a character like Clay?

Huntley Fitzpatrick Hi Sassy,

So glad to hear that My Life Next Door is working for you so far.

To answer your question, I try not to derive my characters strictly from life--although George Garrett is a LOT like my son. They may have traits I've seen in people, but so far, imagination has created the characters. Some of them have completely surprised me, in fact. As for Clay, my husband is in politics (behind the scenes) and Clay's character owes a little bit to various different people he's met and had to work with in his career.

Thank you for taking the time to write me!

Warmly,

Huntley
