I'm keen to buy this for my 12 year old daughter. Is it written in an accessible style for a younger (fairly advanced) reader? Just wondering if the political content or writing style might be too advanced.

Some par…moreI think she'd probably be able to read it. I read this when I was 11, and though I am an advanced reader, it seems like your daughter is too. Some parts of the book are a bit hard to swallow, but they really do add to the depth of Malala's story. I don't think getting the Young Reader's Addition would be a good idea, however, as it was written at a Middle Grade level(as best as I can tell) and 6th grade is considered to be the oldest grade this genre is intended for(though older people can enjoy it too, of course). If she is above average, I honestly think she'll find it a little condescending to be given a book that is well bellow her reading level, which might impair her enjoyment of it. Altogether, yes, giver her the book! (less)
