Goodreads asked Sean Robert Lang:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Sean Robert Lang Accept that not everyone will like your work. And trying to write to please everybody is an exercise in futility and frustration. This can be a difficult hurdle to overcome, especially for new authors. Most writers are sensitive creatures, and naturally we want people to love our stuff. But readers have every right to love, hate, or be indifferent about a book. Have you loved every book you've ever read? There are millions of books out there, and a reader chose yours. Be gracious and thankful that they took a chance on you.
