The protagonist reads more like a t’weener dating her first crush than a 30 yr old brain surgeon.

And the author seems to have a sudden pro-marijuana agenda, here & in her previous book (when the pregnant sister can’t wait to ingest it again). I DNF’d because wasn’t interested in following along on their MJ edibles & home-made gummies escapades. In an extended scene, one of the friends lies when asked if the drug is mild only to tell the others after they’ve all consume it, in public no less: “Now seems like a good time to tell you, Kim buys this sh** from a neighbor who makes it at home; it’s not regulated. Hope you’re all prepared to go to the f*’ing moon.” (less)
