A Goodreads user asked Sarah Noffke:

What is the difficulty, in Your writing process? Best regards: A. Tomov – junior

Sarah Noffke Thanks for the question! My biggest difficulty with the writing process is that I usually work in a haphazard fashion, driven more by emotions and not organized by a neat outline. The writing process is such an organic one for me and for that reason it doesn't have a defined flow. Honestly, although I've gotten better at outlining, it's not my preferred way. I find that if I create characters so vivid in my head that they will tell the story. However, that's what makes my writing process so wonderful and difficult. I'm reliant on the imaginary people to tell me what happens next. I'm usually surprised and that means that I can't plan a series out from start to finish. I'm kind of stuck in the current moment. And really I find this to be more a roller coaster than a difficulty. Truthfully I love the writing process. It's like spring with budding potentials and exploding growth on each new day. Now if we talk about the editing process...well there's where I become infuriated. Editing is the coldest month of winter, coating everything in ice and snow, hardening the earth (and yet I know it is important).
