Goodreads asked David L. Atkinson:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

David L. Atkinson I question the existence of block as it is the opposite of the drive that makes you want to write in the first place. If you are trying to chase a book deal and are writing under duress then I can understand why authors get stuck, but then they are not writing for themselves but at the whims of external bodies. If you are writing for art's sake then there should be little problem becoming stuck.
If you do become stuck then just ask yourself what your central character would do in similar situations.
