I'm glad her character worked for you! The more I wrote about her in Heroes, the more I got the feeling she was chafing under this romantic narrative Aphrodite expected her to follow. First Hera wrote her a "happy ending" with Jason, then Aphrodite had her own expectations of who Piper would be. But Piper never got to explore who she was and what she actually wanted. Like a lot of young people, Piper isn't 100% sure how she identifies, but she's getting the chance and the freedom now to make her own story, and that's important. Good luck with the fundraiser!

I've been a huge Percy Jackson fan since I was little, and the tremendous impact that your literary world had on me is incredible. I don't think I would be the person I am today if it weren't for your books and the world they introduced me to, and for that I am eternally grateful.
