Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

R. Gayle Hawkins The idea of my book generated from a lot of things in my life at the time. My father fought COPD and eventually died from it as I was writing the book. He did not inspire the book, but it did assist me in understanding Sabrina's emotions.

Samuel and Henry generate from many good men that I know that do not necessarily start out life in a perfect household, but make it work for them.

And, to bring it all together, I simply thought of history and how women often did not have a say in anything.
