Nick was inspired by actors like Joe Pesci, Ed Norton, actors who are known for their "blue language" in performances, which often extend in their lives. Nick is usually put in stressful situations, and since he's not the average urban fantasy hero, his reactions speak more to his environment, upbringing, and personality. People react, people swear, use profanities and vulgarities in response to frustration and anger and strong emotional occurrences. I tend to see it not as "Why does Nick swear?" by rather as "why wouldn't he swear?"

I'm too skeptical to place my trust in what book Depository is trying to tell me by displaying your book as already available to purchase when I know that generally your ebooks get a headstart on publication by a year in comparison to the paperbacks...
