Once the current trilogy is done what other style/historical influences are you eyeing for future books? I love fantasy novels that move away from the classic bronze age European model.

Brian Staveley Thanks for the question, Joseph. After this trilogy is done, I'll almost certainly do 1-3 more stand-alone novels in the same world. These will allow me to explore different areas. Maybe something set in the Manjari Empire. Maybe something in the unexplored continent of Menkiddoc. These places won't be European analogues any more than Annur itself. Really looking forward to digging into some of those projects, actually...

Hi Brian! Just finished the Last Mortal Bond and it was absolutely amazing. One of the best fantasy stories I've read in recent years. I simply could not put it down until I finished reading it. Your characters are all so interesting and well developed - what is your process when creating these characters and their story arcs? Also, any chance we'll see some early stories of Flea and his wing in the future?
