hope h. asked Gail Carson Levine:

How do you find inspiration for creating characters? How do you make them so lifelike?

Elizabeth Faustina
Elizabeth Faustina asked Gail Carson Levine:

Is "The Fairy's Return" a retelling of "The Golden Goose" by the Grimm Brothers? I love retellings of more obscure fairytales! I loved all your Princess Tales!

A Goodreads user
A Goodreads user asked Gail Carson Levine:

Mrs. Levine, I haven't picked up a book by you that I haven't loved. While I never cared much for Tinker Bell aside her original appearance in J. M. Barrie's novel, I've fallen in love with your depiction of her in the Fairy Dust Trilogy books. I'm fascinated by the depth you brought to characters that I'd considered fairly bland. What was it like to work with them? Was Disney very restrictive in what you could do?
