1) a short phrase or solo in jazz or popular music - David is a guitar player
2) pass the tongue over (something) - (going down sexually)
3) being defeated emotionally - David was suffering from writer's block because of his ex
4) to thrash - the beating at the bar
5) punishment or criticism - Evelyn's parents are hyper critical of her
Expressions using lick:
6) at a lick: at a fast pace; with considerable speed - the speed of their relationship (going from meeting to married in hours)
