Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Brooke Baxter On my running route, I noticed an older gentleman, with white flowing hair and a long beard, a kind of round belly, wearing jeans and a flannel shirt with suspenders. Every day he would pass me on bike. It was after Christmas, but I thought, "I wonder if he is a mall Santa. I wonder what mall Santa's do all year. I wonder what will happen to the mall Santa's if all the malls close." That was all it took! Noticing something interesting and then letting my mind wander and asking lots of "I wonder...."
