I'm reading the second Lady Violet book and I'm a little foggy on how old she is. I know women married young during that time. Can you tell me how she was when she married and her current age? She's a great character. Thanks.

As the series starts, we put Violate at "about 25." She would have been seventeen-ish when presented at court, maybe going on eighteen when married. Nearly five years with Freddie, then two years of full mourning. Not that old, but definitely feeling un-young.

Your novels have dealt with some tough issues, including rape, sexual abuse and some ugly family relations. Has your career in family law informed your stories? Has writing about these topics--particularly in the romance genre where there's always a happy ending--been cathartic?

Grace, I just finished Matthew's book and what a great guy he was!!! I must say however that Theresa stole the show, she was such an awesome heroine. She should have spanked young Thomas on his behind though when she had the chance. Oh well, now Loris will have to take chore up. :-) So Matthew's wonderful sons, do we have a trilogy in their future? You couldn't ask of a better bunch of young heros....right????

Hi... I've always wanted to be a writer, but it's been years since the last time I wrote, because I HAVE NO IDEAS. No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to come up with anything, and I'm every day more discouraged, because I learned that 96% of manuscripts are rejected. With so many people wanting to be writers and those stats, I feel this is pointless, and I want to give up. Any tips on how to deal with this?
