Renee665 asked Grace Burrowes:

Your novels have dealt with some tough issues, including rape, sexual abuse and some ugly family relations. Has your career in family law informed your stories? Has writing about these topics--particularly in the romance genre where there's always a happy ending--been cathartic?

Grace Burrowes My own family sitch has been nearly ideal, so probably not cathartic. Romance characters need defining traumas, and these factors serve well. More than the HEA, the read has to deliver that growth arc to GET to the HEA.
