Loved the plot and characters, but couldnt figure out what led to Todd killing joseph jones... the answer in the book is not convincing enough... Todds character doesnt seem likely to take such an extreme step no matter what the circumstances. Maybe the author herself can clarify?

Many times he heard, "That person wouldn't have done that," only to find, yes, that person did do that. I believe Todd was capable of the murder due to the circumstances he found his family living.(less)
