Hi! 1st, when I read a St. Mary's book on an airplane, people around me want to know what I am reading - I laugh so loud. Your books are the funniest and most original (plot-wise & even more so turn-of-phrases-wise) I have ever read. What I'd like to know, is what similarities and differences exist between you and Max. I should think you like chocolate and tea, and are rebellious? But do you Paint? Anything else?

Hi. There are a few similarities - yes to the tea and chocolate. And reading. And History. And I used to paint although not recently because I don't have the time. That's about it, though. Max is much more together than I am. In times of crisis, I tend to assume a foetal position and wait for someone else to sort it all out. Thanks for your question.

Thank you for the answer about POD plods. I feel better now! I’m re-reading the St Mary’s books and I’m struck by the insight into human nature and the compassion that is in the stories, as well as the wit and humour which seem just as fresh to me second time round. You seem to be prolific! I am trying to write something myself. Do you have any advice? Do you set yourself targets each day? Plot first?

Hi Jodi. Quite often, Max will return to St. Mary's (from some point in history), seriously injured and/or exhausted. They then turn around immediately to go back and rescue their fellow team members back from when they came without fully recuperating. Why don't they take the time to get better before they return? Surely they can wait a few days to fix themselves up before returning to exactly the same point in time.
