Goodreads asked James John Tritten:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

James John Tritten I thought I really liked being a non-fiction writer about serious stuff. Then I decided to never do anything that I used to do when I got paid to do it. In other words, I retired. Since then, I have had a blast at exploring memoir and all of the emotions. Men, you see, only master humor and anger. I have had the learn about the rest, then how to recognize what happens to a person in each case, then how to write about that, and finally how to write so that you the reader will experience what I experienced. So then I got the courage to tackle fiction. Way more fun than the old boring academic stuff I used to write.
