Thanks. Will get Johnnie on Kindle before I leave for the San Miguel de Allende writers conference in a few weeks and read it there. Will also send you a query letter and synopsis of Fatal Waters - I believe Kathleen talked to you about me looking for an agent. Jim

All kinds of strange ways. Once I was inspired by my daughter-in-law handing me a piece of pink duct tape. I asked myself what was that and why did we need it. Another inspiration was when my son told me, upon joining me for a weekend away, that he was on an all-plant diet. I tend to find subjects in the most peculiar ways - all of which are fun.

I thought I really liked being a non-fiction writer about serious stuff. Then I decided to never do anything that I used to do when I got paid to do it. In other words, I retired. Since then, I have had a blast at exploring memoir and all of the emotions. Men, you see, only master humor and anger. I have had the learn about the rest, then how to recognize what happens to a person in each case, then how to write about that, and finally how to write so that you the reader will experience what I experienced. So then I got the courage to tackle fiction. Way more fun than the old boring academic stuff I used to write.

Reading a story about pre-historic water being found in New Mexico written up in our local newspaper. Inspired the creation of Fatal Waters.

Fatal Meeting, a follow-on to Fatal Waters. A mystery set in New Mexico loosely (very) based upon Agatha Christi's And Then There Were None.

I outline all lengthy works. Writers block can't happen that way [for me]
