Goodreads asked Neil deGrasse Tyson:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Neil deGrasse Tyson Write because you cannot not write, not because you're forcing yourself to do so. That being said, my most miserable times writing was making monthly deadlines for a column I wrote across ten years for Natural History magazine. Yet that's some of my best writing ever. Under those circumstances, as has been said, "I enjoy having written."

When I write because I cannot not write, its actually a joyous experience. But caution, it can unfold at the expense of home life, social life, and occasionally personal hygiene.
