WOW! I loved WING-WALKERS. I was fortunate enough to sit in Dr. McAlexander’s Southern Lit class at UGA in 1977. He was mesmerizing, smoking during class, and challenging each of us daily. He misread my last name, Gaunt, then said I should change it to Gant for LOOK HOMEWARD ANGEL reference. He turned me on to Faulkner and led me into my continuing reading journey of the southern word...which brought me to you! ?

Taylor Brown Oh, Dr. Mac was the best! He called me "Brownie" at first until I said something he particularly liked about THE GREAT GATSBY, and at that moment he christened me "Browning." Ha! I've gotten to visit with him a few times in recent years and I was really happy he got to lay hands on WINGWALKERS :)

Thanks for answering, I loved the book! It made me want to know much more about the civil war and I picked up several lectures at the library after I read it. Your writing made the horror of it all very real but was also sensitively rendered. Thanks for your work? (made me put a question mark to post this)
