Sara Goldenberg asked Nenia Campbell:

I read Dennis Duncan's "Index, a history of" and thought of you - in it he discusses a man (in the Indexing business) who claimed to have read 22,000 books in 8 years. HAHAHAH. Fake? Of course!!!

Nenia Campbell So I did the math and 365 x 8 is 2920 and if you divide 22,000 by 2920 that averages out to a leisurely 7.6 books a day. I work full time in addition to writing and still manage to read about 1.5 books a day (counting my DNFs), so I'm not sure that's necessarily fake. If he's retired and reading full time, that seems potentially feasible and like an amazing way to spend one's time here on Earth, tbh. When I was between jobs I read all day in between applying and could easily read about five 300 page books a day, especially if they had large type.
