Angie- Glad you liked my review. I see you are reading Two Nights in Lisbon by Chris Pavone- I've already ordered it. Have you read his first book, The Expats? I saw interesting cultural parallels between his characters and the family in Miracle Creek. There are assimilation steps and barriers involved in being part of an American community in Arkansas and an expat community in Luxemburg.

Hello! I am a Baltimore County teacher who just finished your book and read about your background. I have to know: how much was autobiographical? Even though Baltimore plays a very small role, it seems eerily like those of immigrants working in the city. Incidentally, I loved the legal aspects of "Miracle Creek: and really enjoyed how the story came together. It was a great debut.

It touched on so many issues we all deal with - or know someone who does: motherhood, and what is right and wrong and who is to judge; the depths we go to, to protect our children; the differences in cultures; etc. You came to the US at age 11. Did your father come with you or did he stay in Korea like Pak did? And if he did stay - what impact did that have on your life?
