Steven W asked Steven James:

Hi Steven, I noticed that you use both fictional locations/places and existing locations in your books. I was wondering, how do you decide when to use a fictional location as opposed to an existing location? I noticed because I often look up locations in books up on the internet to get a better idea of the environment and the setting.

Steven James Thanks for the question. If there's something iconic, I will sometimes refer to it. If it's a small business, I usually ask permission from them before including it. Sometimes I'll say something like "down the block from the FBI Building," that way there's something they recognize but I can make up whatever I want. I hope you continue to enjoy my books! -s
