Peter Alan Turner I'm working on a co-write with another great Western writer. This book is about a real-life person, Carlotta J. Thompkins aka Lottie Deno. She was a professional gambler and traveled up and down the Mississippi on a steamboat gambling. She had a maid/bodyguard, Mary Poindexter a freed black woman who was 7 feet tall.
