Good question! Poisoners, or strong ones anyway, can safely ingest anything that the body can process. So say, if a poisoner became afflicted with pica, the urge to ingest inedible things, it might prove as fatal as it would for anyone else, from intestinal blockages, internal damage, etc.
It’s worth noting though that poisoners only crave things that are poisonous. So while they may survive spoiled food items, they aren’t keen on eating them.

Could you explain a little more about the dynamic between the Queens/people of the island, and the mainland people? I could never get a feel for if they are ruled by the queen of the island, or if they just respect/revere them. What is the relationship between the two?
