Mary Beth My opinion: if you read, and enjoyed The Great Gatsby, you won't enjoy this book.
Letha I just finished 'Beautiful Little Fools' and loved it; very creative and well written. I read 'The Great Gatsby' a long long time ago and do not recall all the details. I intentionally decided to read this one without a refresher to see how it stood on its own, and I think it did great. Like you I might go back and read the Great Gatsby again but I don't think you need to have read it to enjoy this one
Ann I don't think one needs to have read Gatsby (or seen the movie) - this book fills you in on all you need to know. I had read The Great Gatsby (years & years ago) and seen the film, but did not re-visit them.

I enjoyed Gatsby, and LOVED this story - could hardly put it down!
