Dear Joan, I’m so sorry I let a year go by without answering! No excuse! You’re certainly right about palpable being correct. Sometimes while polishing a story I get caught up in the forest and miss the trees; the same for my skilled editors. I like how you used “sit right with me.” You must also be from the south, or maybe that’s universal? Anyway, thanks for the gracious correction my friend.

I am writing to ask you why you describe Cleveland Bay horses as any other color than bay (brown)? While there may very rarely be a chestnut (red) Cleveland Bay, they are very rare. The color of the horse is in it's description, Bay. They are not grey. They are not Palomino (blond), or Dun, or Pinto etc. They are bay. They are very sweet, very very large horses used mostly for fox hunting. I loved mine.

I don't have a question, just wanted to say I have just "discovered" your Gresham Chronicles. The Widow of Larkspur Inn was a wonderful book and I could hardly put it down, I love the characters!
