We all have mysteries regarding the family members we never met either because we weren't born yet (!) or much lore has been built around the story of their lives. I am forever piecing together clues about those that came before me- I spoke with a man in Chisholm, Minnesota in his 90's that remembered my grandfather from his boyhood. I asked him lots of questions- but mostly, I was thrilled that he knew him.

I am just now reading, The Good Left Behind, printed in 2022. That year my mom passed and in 2023, my dad passed. Over half way through it and It may be my favorite of your novels so far and I am a big fan of yours. My question is: How can one man/bully rile up so many other men/people toward violence for their neighbors/friends?
