Eleanor Pearlstein
Eleanor Pearlstein asked Jennifer A. Nielsen:

Most of your books I've read are first-person (and I love that, I can't find nearly enough where people write like that), do you find it more or less difficult than third-person? I'm trying to write something in first person, do you have any tips?

Jennifer A. Nielsen I sometimes write in third person but I prefer first person for the way it allows me to get deeper into the character's head. One tip to consider is to find ways to avoid the over-repetitiveness of "I." This can take some practice, but using it too much makes the character sounds pretty self-centered.
