Even if you looked at it as as stand-alone (ie not comparing it to the book), it was terrible. The movie was poorly written, had a bad music score, the acting was subpar, and the plot didn't make very much sense. Not that I thought the book was very good or anything, but when you do compare them, the book was WAY better. (less)
