Is any of your current or former dogs namd Petey?

Scott Hawkins Not exactly, but close. My very first dog's actual name was Puppy Dog. Every body gave me a hard time about it, but the dog herself loved it. We used to go out jogging a lot in the neighborhood. Any time a little kid and /or the kid's parent saw her they'd be like "look at the Puppy Dog" and she'd get all excited--tail wagging, wanting to say hello, etc. "Yes! Yes, that's me! I'm Puppy Dog!" She thought the whole world knew her.

Sometimes I'd call her P.D. for short,. Petey was kind of a nod to that.

Fun fact though-when I was writing the scene where (spoiler alert) the character was getting attacked by dogs, I was having trouble keeping track of which dog was biting what. So I modeled them after my own pack (we had a beagle, Thane was in fact named Thane, plus I think three or four others in-house at the time.

I just finished The Library at Mount Char. It was weird and perfect. I was wondering what else you could recommend in a similar vein to what you wrote to hold me over until your next book?

Just a Comment? I absolutely enjoyed The Library at Mount Char, I think a sequel might be interesting but it is also a well written stand alone book. More then anything I am eager to see what other imaginings you will write. I am an excited fan and will purchase what ever your next book will be based on my opinion of this book.

So, I read Library a while back and fell in love with it. Then later discovered the audiobook and have listened to that more than a few times in subsequent years (it's easier to "read" when I can listen and do other things at work!). I'm wondering how do you feel that Hillary Huber did in bringing the story to life and giving voice to characters? Especially Carolyn?
