Hello Joseph! I'm re-reading Spooks Apprentice (currently on vol.4) and i noticed that it seems like you have a great respect for your female characters when writing them. Did you had some real-life inspiration for creating them?
Joseph Delaney
I suppose I have been influenced by women that I have met (although I will not name them – apart from my mother who influenced the character of Mam) but characters mainly grow for me through dialogue as they start to speak. Alice, Mam and Grimalkin slowly took shape in my imagination and I really enjoyed writing the parts of the books in which they featured. So eventually I gave Alice and Grimalkin books of their own in the series. Maybe one day I will do the same with Tom Ward’s mother.

Do seventh sons of seventh sons have other things different about them? We know they are all left handed and have green eyes but do they have organs or bodily functions that are not present in other people? Especially with Tom being a seventh son of a seventh son and being the child of Zenobia he is essentially the first of his own kind of creature to exist so does his body have strange or special functions within?

Does Alice coming back to tom at the end of the dark assasin mean that they're back together? When is your next book featuring Thomas Ward Grimalkin, and/or Alice Dean and if so what is the estimated time until a book with them in it will be released if you are making another book with Tom, Grimalkin or Alice could you please say who would be included?
