I am still reading it, in Italian version, borrowed from a friend. With every page, I force myself finding a reason to continue reading. The structure and style is confusing, hoping from the 'in person' to 'third person', there are several gaps in the story and the style is childish, specifically in evoking emotions, feeling and behaviors. I'll read it through in the hope to learn more about why it was published?

I'm reading it in French. I'm about a third of the way through. You are right that the style is bit dull and the description of emotions is flat. Why am I reading this book? Because it's easy reading and good for increasing my French vocabulary. And because I want to find out what happens. ... And it was worth persisting to the end. A clever murder mystery. It could have been shortened by cutting out the rather tiresome interspersed bits of advice on how to write a book.
