I loved the Emperor's Blades and I am very curious as to Adare's role in the upcoming book. Without any spoilers will she have a larger role in The Providence of Fire?

Brian Staveley Thanks for the question, Tracey. Adare's role is much larger in Providence. I'd need to go back to the manuscript to be certain, but I think she has the most pages this time around. I can't wait to hear what people make of her dilemmas and decisions.

Brian, the way you handled Laith's death brought me to tears. You didn't tamper too much with it directly. No prolonged funeral or such, just a mention by Valyn in the consecutive chapters brought back memories of the flier and I found the letters were blurry, but infact I was crying again. Thank you, that was a wonderful experience. Anyway, to my question, how many people will I cry for in the final book?

In December, your neighbor, Ty Gibbons recommended The Emperor's Blades. I downloaded it from audible, and listened to it on my hikes up Mt. Wantastiquet. I loved the first book and quickly downloaded the second, which I also loved. There was then a true moment of horror when I realized that the 3rd book was not yet out and that my binge would be incomplete. Is there a 3rd book audio version also out on 3/15?

This series has been a tremendous read. Instantly in my top ten list. The use of character perspective and political intrigue kept everything grounded and somewhat 'messy' (in a good way). Will be be seeing more of Valyn in the future? His development was the most tragic of the siblings for me, and I feel as though he deserves more ink. Was the prologue in Last Mortal Bond a tease?
