Hilariously, Dragon Slippers WAS a YA book, but since dragons are such a big draw for middle grade readers, my editor and I sort of hand-waved the ages of the characters, and took out a couple of slightly too intense things. I've often thought of going back to check in with the dragons, maybe several years down the line, but it's just a vague idea at this point, and it would probably be about the same level, as regards to peril and whatnot.
