What was your favorite book as a child and how do you think it affects what you like to read and write today?

I loved whimsical and science fantasy as a child--Roald Dahl, Edward Eager, Ray Bradbury, and Douglas Adams. But my favorites were the King Arthur books by Howard Pyle, and I'm sure that's why I'm enamored of all things medieval.
